Today, I revived Justwatchthesky from the internet graveyard/landfill of "coming soon" pages. The scope is narrow: An exercise in documenting words in the music I listen to with color and type. The constraints are simple: (1) Only use Georgia (serif) or Helvetica (sans) and (2) try to post as often as possible. We'll see how long the experiment will last, but for now, I'm enjoying it. It's like a music blog/splash page hybrid. Very popular in Sweden.
Ms. Jones has a nice little chat with Jez Burrows, this year's Penguin Design Award runner-up. "Indie rock and infographics make pretty good partners, I think."
A floor-by-floor demolition blows minds, saves environment. What the frak, indeed!
The sound of Jello wobbling. Ironically, Jello Wobbling is the working title for our debut album. If your ears want a treat, click the 'video' link inside the article.
Me: Could you get any more awesome?
Iceland: Já. þú ert velkominn, Gerðu svo vel.

Yet another reason I love Gotham New York.
As a young lad I was simply enamored by Nova. Just about the time I packed up and moved out of my flat on Sesame Street, there was Nova; ready to carry me up to the ranks of Science Club President. According to Authentic Jobs, PBS is hiring a web developer for Nova. They tout being a Mac shop and, trust me, if you've seen their new headquarters in Boston, you'll likely end up with a pretty swank office to boot.
Oh? What? Need a place to live in Boston. Well it just so happens the infamous Roof Deck City is on the market. Say the word. I can get ya 'round those nasty realtor fees. ;)

Friendly fire on the East River. Wow.

Yup. This is the second time I've made a nerdy reference to the Large Hadron Collider; the world's most powerful atom-smasher. It's that thing that sits *under* the French-Swiss border. Buried 330 feet underground and 17 miles in circumference, it could potentially create extra dimensions and/or destroy the planet. The science geek in me cannot wait until that big (hopefully red) button gets pushed this August. Until then, here are my three theories on the 'matter'.
1. Everything will go fine. We'll make amazing, life-altering discoveries.
2. The aforementioned, plus Jerry Bruckheimer will have a great new script idea.
3. It will indeed create a black hole that will swallow earth in the blink of an eye; ending everything.
Either way, I'm thinking about throwing an Atom-Smasher's Eve party. One last hurrah, just in case things go awry. Oh, but what an exciting way to go... POOF! Who's bringing the snacks?
I wanted to send out a big congrats to those that took part in Virb's 2008 Apple Fire Sale. A G5, a Mac Pro and a gaggle of Cinema Displays were auctioned off in only a matter of days. Christian, Marc, Andrew, Andrew and Nate, enjoy your new toys. We sure did.
In other news, and thanks to the new MacBook Pros, the Virb office is now much more mobile than before. Finally we can achieve our dreams of working remotely from different theme parks around the country.

More costly service plans, but a less expensive phone. Get the scoop o'er at AppleInsider!
"The first Penguin paperbacks appeared in the summer of 1935 revolutionising the publishing industry and becoming an integral part of British culture and design history." The 2008 Penguin Design Award winners and shortlist are announced and I gotta agree, Jez Burrows was robbed.
Please don't judge me when I'm driving the DeLorean with these on my feet.
Olafur Eliasson's waterfalls, which somewhat coincide with the Brooklyn Bridge's (belated) 125th Birthday party, have begun a'flowin all around NYC. Guess I'll need to see it in person for the full effect. I dunno. I think I was more a fan of the Telectroscope.
